I have a question.
The two large red slider turtles in our tank will flitter their front hands in front of the others face.

They are almost nose to nose. Neither seems alarmed. It sometimes seems as if if maybe a sign of affection but not sure

Does anyone know what this means?

Thank you for any insight.

How old are your turts? What size are they and how many gallons of water are they in?

If they are in 10 gallons of water per inch of shell, and you have a male and female, I would venture to say mating characteristics.

If your turtles are in less than 10 gallons of water per inch, then I would guess there is a fight for space.
