Hi! I'm new here and i have i quick question..
my 4inch turtle was shaking or vibrating its two front hands at my other turtles ( 3 in)face. I've read about them doing that when they breed but my turtles are still small. and i not sure whether they are male or female. Is it normal?

This can also mean the turtles are telling each other to "Back off!!! This is my turf!!!" What size tank do you have them in? You may have to upgrade, or separate them if this continues. Keep an eye out for aggression, biting each other ect..

the tanks is 48x13x17 so its about 46 gallons. i dont have alot in there with them, so they have lots of room

My female adult turt vibrates her tiny claws at the glass when I hold my hatchling RES on the outside of her tank (they don't actually live in the same tank, but when I take my hatchling out of his tank to inspect him & make sure he is doing well, I also take him over to see his "big sister" Sheba & say "hello"). I guess I will never fully know what her intentions are toward the baby, but I don't want to find out either. Sheba can be vicious towards any other turtle in her "space"...! I have witnessed this in the past when I had her cohabiting with another turtle, and I found that it was safer for everyone involved if she was "by herself" in her tank!

I agree with everyone here. Just make sure they don't start biting at each other. If that starts, you will have to get a 2nd tank & separate them permanently to prevent injuries.

Mine do this to each other all the time! I think it's hilarious! I have two three inch turtles in a 55g

It's funny/cute until one of them gets hurt. If the paw fluttering is frequent or intensifies, and the size of the tank is too small or near capacity for their size, it would be good to think about upgrading.

Even if the one that's being fluttered at isn't actually hurt, the turtle is being stressed, which isn't healthy in the long run.
