I bought this shell cream it says its revitalizes dry,brittle or cracked shells or skin.Should I use it even if my turtles don't have this problem.

i dont realy think there is any need to use cream if there is nothing wrong with your turt.
i would save the cream until you realy need it.
what happens if your turt got a crack on the shell and it was in a lot of pain and you had already ran out of the cream you no.
just save it until needed.
have fun with your turts.

I read elsewhere on this forum that the cream can cause problems with shedding/growth if it is used on a long term basis. Their shells need to be able to dry out really well when they bask to be heathy and i think this cream hinders this process. Either way, in the wild RES don't have somebody to rub cream on their shells and they do fine so i think yours will be better off without it.

Vitashell? Not recommended. It's oil based and will prevent the shell from breathing. Long term use, especially on young turtles, has been blamed for shell problems. If you're turtles shell is healthy, nothing extra should be needed. If it isn't, taking your turtle to be checked by a herp vet would be a good idea.

If your worried about your turtle's shell I bought this thing called turtle conditioner it gives calcium and prevents soft shell... Just to make sure for a healthy shell

Is the turtle conditioner a powder that the turtle eats or food supplement? Or is it something you rub on the shell? Or something you put in the water and it dissolves?

You just put it in the water and it dissoves like over a week or so.

Don't rely on those little dissolving blocks to provide the calcium your turtle needs. Be sure that there's a cuttlebone for them to nibble on when they feel like it.

I used that it cost about $2 and I also give her cuttlebone
