he's an orange fish that never stays in one spot. he's always the first to swim up to the surface for the morning feeding. and now he's nowhere to be found.

oh sigh, 3 months is a pretty good run but i still feel kinda sad.

:(
It's always a tenuous existence for any fish in a turtle's tank. ;)

Yeah it stinks when you get attached to a certain fish then the next day you know it is in your turtles stomach

yeah, it feels really weird. strange cuz the tank just seems a little bit empty without that little orange thing bouncing around. odd that i'd mourn for something that i knew would eventually be food.

I've got two Rosies, one has been in the tank for 6 months, one for four. After the first one survived for 2 months, I figured I get him a companion. Sometimes in the morning, while getting ready for work, I'll look over at the tank and only see one fish and I sort of panic, ("Oh no, they KILLED HIM!!") then I'll see the other one swim out from behind the pipe.......

I think I'm going to set up a 10 gal. tank for them.

What can I say? I have three fat, lazy, good for nothing turts!

Four minnows survived last summer in Spotty's pond. I brought them inside with him in the fall into the aquarium. The all lived happily until February (I think it was). I happened to look over and saw Spot chomp into the littlest one! It was awful to see. He ate it all except for a few scraps that fell to the bottom of the tank. I was nervous for weeks afterwards that he was going to get another one, so I finally got another little tank and moved the three survivers there. It's also where I'm growing anacharis and a couple of other plants, so it's quite well balanced. I don't worry about Spot missing out on any lunches - obviously he didn't care that much. And now I can look at the big aquarium without that feeling of dread.

I say good for the fat, lazy good for nothing turts of the world!

yeah it was actually pretty unexpected cuz they'll barely even snap at him even when he's munching on their food and now he's...

err :) it's just weird.
