I just got an iguana instead of another turtle. Her name is Ju-Ju Be XD. He is settled in well. For those of you who don't know me I had a turtle and after the first 2 months he died. So anyway I'm still with you guys.

Do you know how your turtle died?

We had an iguana at the school where I completed my student teaching...he was rescued from the humane society and only had 3 legs. The students took turns caring for him. They even come in over the summer to clean the cage and feed him.

So anyway, sorry about your loss, but welcome back!

Thats llike a Ripley Believe It or Not animal cause of the 3 legs. Well so far it seems he had a respitory infection.

It's sad that you gave up on turtles, they quickly grow on you to become a friend. They are full of emotions(granted it's mostly hungar). Don't forget that you can always try them again:) But I respect all of your decisions. HOw old is your new pet?

He might have had a respiritory infection when you got him & you didn't know about it. It can take a long time for these little guys to *appear* sick. My first two turtles both died of pneumonia before I found out about turtle care.

Don't give up. We all learn from our experiences. The important thing to remember is how much the little guys enriched our lives when they were living with us!

PLUS, I like to think that my current RES of 16+ yrs has dramatically benefitted from my experiences! So even though my initial 2 kids died, Sheba has lived and lived and lived............... So hopefully you have more knowledge now & your Iguana will benefit!!!!

my new pet is at least a year old
