Hi, we have been reading this site for quite a while and finally decided to add our words. Our turtles are Lou, she is a 7-8" RES, about 6 years old and lives currently in a posh but bare 46 gal bow tank with alot of bricks and a whisper power filter. Last year, along came 3 babies who needed a new home. The Baby Lou's they were called until a couple months ago when their names developed, Lou Labelle, the larger of the three, Cindy Lou the medium sized one and Rigel McLou the tiny one. They were all the same size at 2 inches, and now they are 4.5 inches, 4 inches and 3 inches less than a year later. Not sure why the odd size difference, but everyone is happy. They currentlyy reside in a 29 gallon tank with a turtle dock and a cascade filter. Everyone has heat lamps and day lamps and heaters for the winter cool days. We all eat Reptomin turtle food, dried shrimps, and Repcal. Lou gets romaine lettuce, doesnt like carrots, and loves some live crickets and on occasion, gets a Goldfish Cracker. We all play with a floating ball and a ping pong ball.

We all live in Charlotte NC, in the living room with the tv. Lou bloops in the water constantly for attention or food, which she gets both of all the time. The babies, they like to pretend to bite the tank when we walk by. The turtles also have three cat buddies and three dog buddies and 5 fish friends. We are planning a pond for the yard for everyone to enjoy in the summer months. We have been through all the nonsense of starting up and not knowing anything, and hopefully now we got right. We look forward to talking to you all.

Thank you lydia_lady_fla, Lou is definitely female, the babies, well we believe they are females too, no one shows signs yet of fatter tails or long nails. We are looking forward to giving them a pond, it will be a process, but worth it. They are great fun to watch and take pics of, enjoy your baby while he/she is small, they grow quick! :o)
