My turtle has a lump in one ear. I did some quick research and figured that it's an aural abscess. I saw that the only way it can be treated is by surgery. However someone claimed that a turtle can sort of scratch it off by itself. Has anyone dealt with some thing like this before? Is a surgery expensive? Please share your own experiences

No, it cannot be scratched off and they usually burst when untreated. Surgery is generally routine, so it shouldn't be that expensive.

Thank you for your reply! Is it possible that after surgery this will be a recurring issue?

It's only speculated that dirty tank water causes it, but I think a cleaner environment will help reduce chances of something like it occurring.
