White lines between Scutes.
Posted: Mon Jul 23, 2007 8:51 pmOne of my turtles is developing white lines between the scutes of the its shell. It is especially apparent under water. Is this just normal scute shedding?

Posted: Mon Jul 23, 2007 8:51 pmPosted: Tue Jul 24, 2007 11:16 amThis means your turtle is growing. The seam (line between the scutes) becomes wider and takes on a whitish/greyish white color. It is especially noticeable in the water. At some point, shedding scutes will follow.
Posted: Sun Oct 07, 2007 1:45 pmthis happened to my turtle. It depends on how big your turtle is. Mine is only 1.5 inches. The lines went away after a while but there is still a bit of gray left.
