Looking to add one or possibly two more "survivor" fish to my tank.

I picked up 2 tinfoil barbs, that my turtles never even go after anymore since they're to quick. Also picked up a Chinese algae eater (ugliest fish ever IMO), and he tortured my 2 fish for awhile, but then left them alone.

Any other fish you guys know of that my turtles cant catch?

Definatly not Rosy Red minnows. I used to have goldfish, but my turtles are just hatchlings and those were to big for them. Any fish that you end up getting will probably get eaten by your turtles. I have only tried a couple different species of fish. Maybe someone else has more ideas..

Guppies always get eaten by my turtles. Goldfish are too fatty so are a bad idea. My tinfoil barbs have lasted almost a month now..so I think i'm in the clear with them.

Yeah, I knew I was going to have to take out the golfish soon so they wouldn't be eaten. I was just waiting for them to die..

I've had 3 rosy reds in my tank for a long time now. I got them as feeders but if my turtle doesn't eat his feeder fish in the first couple days he never does. I let them hang around to clean up scraps and in case my turtle gets hungry while i'm away. I'm a big advocate of only putting fish in with a turtle that you're ok with being eaten.

I have ghost shrimp, they are neat to watch and my turtle is not interested in them at all. I have had the same four for about eight months now.

I have a pleco in one tank that we have had for a year now. I had another pleco in another tank and it was in there for 4 months then got ate but the baby turtles so I think it depends on your turtle but just because its been in the tank amonth doesn't mean it won't eat it

i breed guppies in my tank. they get eaten eventually, but so far the breeding has been keeping up with the eating great. it's a renewable food source. now if i could only figure out how to get my steak to multiply in the freezer......

i have a bulldog pleco in my tank along with some rosy reds. cujo will eat the rosy reds if he can catch them. as for the pleco, i bought a cave for him at petsmart that he can hide in but is too small for cujo to get in

I don't buy any feeder guppies for Sheba because she doesn't even bother chasing them. Instead, I put them in my aquatic frog tank, but even he doesn't bother chasing them either. So they just swim round & round with no predators.

Rosies survive a long long time with Spot - but not forever. He ate all but 4 big ones over a year ago but then left the 4 alone for about a year. However, starting a few months ago the 4 have been disappearing one by one. Yesterday there were two left, but today I've only seen one. Unless the other one has found a great new hiding place......

For some reason Spot has been hungrier than usual lately. He's eating his veggies, his cuttlebone and now his minnows in addition to pellets and occasional treats. I think he's bored because he can't come out into the sunshine in the backyard any more because it's too cold out there.

Lol, I think he is stocking up for a nice long hibernation. My turtles will eat anything that moves!!
