After posting pic of my little guy, Harvey- I came to find out from you fine folks, that HER name is now Harvetta (not really- I still call her Harvey). Anyway- She's 4 inches and I'm guessing a year old. My friend had her and said she got her for Christmas last year and she was tiny.

Anyway, what should I expect now? When and will she lay eggs? How do I know when it's coming? Does she have to be a certain size before that happens? Things like that.

Thanks! :)
Kate

Don't fret. Yet. You have years before you have to worry about that. I, like Jurassic Park, like to keep only females. They don't fight, they are more personable (in my experience) and having to deal with unfertile eggs is easy compared to dealing with male-prolapse. Yuck.

After mine laid her eggs she was completely exhausted so make sure she has a really nice warm spot to just chill (basking dock will do, just make sure it is nice and warm). Nyxie slept on her dock under her basking light the entire day and night after laying. I didn't see her when she laid the eggs so I don't know exactly how that goes, but Tobi the turtle (you can probably search "Tobi" and come up with the posts) has been laying eggs like crazy and her owner says they go into a trance and has pictures of her laying.
