i was fishing out some leaves from tortuga's tank and i realized the water felt cold. i checked the heater and it was turned off!!!

so i put in a thermometer and it's 68 degrees!!

i turned it back on, set it back to 78 but should i just do a partial water change and replace with warmer water to bring it up to temp quickly?

it must have been off for at least a full day. i feel so bad. will my turt be okay?

That's okay. Turtles in the wild deal with far worse and so do domestic ones as well. I had no power for over a week in a summer flood of 'O6. No heater, lights, filter or hot tap water.
Luckily, turtles are very tough and hardy in the short term.

Hey, Hi! My little guys are pretty friendly. I have a 20gal long... a third of the tank is dedicated land for basking and the remaining for swimming... they have P l e n t y of room amoung the three of them, plus Sammy, JoJo, and The Gang.

He's always been the shy one... Crazy, Us Cubbies are NEVER Shy... maybe I shouldn't have named him Wrigley?!?!

I always keep plenty of Anacharis for them... and feed them shrimp?!?

I have to encourage him to get up and eat...

fly-awn -- I would not advise you pouring hot water in your tank to warm them up. It is the quick cooling and quick warming that has a tendency to cause RI. Besides that, you could crack you glass if you warm it up too quickly. Slowly cool and slowly warm should not hurt your turtles. Good Luck!
