Hi guys,
I got this filter for my RES, its a Whisper that i got from wallmart, it adds a little waterfall effect, but it gets annoying and i don't think its that great. Is there a specific type of filter that I should get for a RES, if so what is it, maybe something under the water and actually keeps the water clean lol.
Thank you

That all depends on your setup. What size tank do you have, and how big is your turtle? You generally want to aim for a filter that's rated for a tank that's 2-3 times as big as yours, so if you had a 50 gallon tank you'd want a filter that's rated for a 150 gallon tank.

You might want to look into a canister filter. It costs a little more up-front, but in the long run, it works great for keeping turtle water clear.

Those whisper ones are annoying. We had one on the fish tank and it made me have to pee all the time. I would suggest a canister filter. I just bought two Rena XP3s for my 300 gallon stock tank I'm setting up.

zeek -- I recommend a canister that turns the water 5 or more times. You need to answer the starter questions. Ex, size of tank, lights, temps etc.
