I just got them for my turtle, and I don't know how long I am suppose to leave my turtle out before I can put it in.

Don't the eye drops need to dry? Or can I just stick it in right after, because I left it on a wet towel for 30 minutes after applying the eye drops.

For ease, the towel does not need to be wet.

I would say to give the drops a couple minutes and then put it back in the tank.

When I used them for one of my turtles, I let him stay out of the tank for a few minutes and put him back in. The drops worked just fine.

It should reopen in 1 week right?

what if it falls on the entire face? does that count as a drop of both eyes?

I would make sure the drops are going into the eyes, not on the face.

where do you get eye drops? from a vet? none of the pet stores i have been to have any form of turtle supplements or eye care. I assumed since i live in such an overpopulated city,nyc, that there have to be more turtle fans like me. And how expensive is it ? I know a vet visit was charging me about $125. is that average?(It was an emergency)

That's a little high for just a visit, but if any meds or x-rays were taken, that's typical. And it depends on the eye drops, I think some come from pet stores, others from vets. It's hard to find a good turtle section anywhere, which is why a lot of things on the board come from online rather than a pet store. You can look around, or maybe Steve has a place in NYC that he frequents that he can recommend. I don't know much about NYC, I'm up in Albany, so there's a Petco about 20 minutes away that has a fantastic reptile section.

awesome! Iguess it was an emergency visit because i bought the first turtles i got were off the street and usually they give you a healthy one and a sick one. One of them was dying and even though i didnt know much i ws going crazy because i could tell that she ws sick and i had no info.... internet, yellowpages, friends with turtles.... i finally got through.

When my three guys eyes swelled up from over exposure to UVB, I applied the eye drops and then dry docked them for about 30 minutes.

Here's a pic of Big Daddy when the swelling was at it's worst. Once I started treatment and corrected the UVB situation, his eyes started to clear up in 3 days and was back to normal in a week.



Zoo-Meed's eye drops are a mild analgesic at best, if the eyes don't show improvement within a week there could be some underlying cause that needs to be addressed by a Vet.

Ok, a week? Its the 3rd day, so I thought I would see some improvement, and I do... less bulgyness, but stull bulgy.

Do you have a fluorescent UVB lamp and are you still using it?

grey goose, mine did that too i changed the stronger light and then the eye got better with only 2 drops of turtle eye drops.
