I want to know if cucumber is OK to feed my Painteds but it isn't listed in the nutrition section as being bad or good. Does anyone know if it is OK for them to eat?

I would guess it to be fine, however I doubt it would present much nutritional value because of the high water content in the cucumber.

I just saw the thread title and went to look it up in the nutrition section, but once opening the thread saw you already had, lol.

Like Chris said, It's certainly not bad for them, but it's more of a "filler" than anything else, since it has little nutrition value.
A little bit once and a while in a balanced diet is just great :)

I usually give mine a slice or two on nights when the just get a "boring" veggie like lettuce.

My babies always think they are hungry so thought of trying some cucumber with them. I would give them their red leaf lettuce everyday but they have a nasty little habit of just shredding the lettuce instead of eating it if they get it too often. My adult is also super pickey when it comes to veggies so if I can find something she actually likes I would be happy LOL. Thanks for the replies, I pretty much thought it couldn't be harmful but wanted to double check :)

My painteds hate cucumbers. They go after it, sniff it and then just look at me as if to say, "That's all?"

Well Nyx went nuts for the first piece, devoured it in about 5 seconds so I went and got her 3 more pieces and she just bit them all and chased them around the tank LOL. I will try blueberries again when they come into season, Nyx really liked the blueberries last year.
