Here are some pictures of a turtle a lady at work found and thought I would like to add to my turtle tank with Speedy. He came from a creek and I am going to return him to the same creek after work but was wondering if anyone can tell me about him. He is gorgeous. Here are a few quick pics I got of him

Definitely RES, completely gorgeous! Pretty coloring and patterns.

Well i was thinking he was but he is one of the most greenish yellows i have seen around here so i started wondering? It really doesn't effect me either since we aren't keeping him eventhough he is so cute

Aww, he's so adorable!! And the yellow is quite lovely on him. But definitely a RES. Soooo tiny!

Yep, baby wild RES always look a lot more colourful for some reason.

It's great you will be putting him back in his home. If you kept him it would be more difficult on you (and your wallet!) later on when they start growing huge and need separate setups.

A hatchling RES, and s/he's a cutie (too small to tell the sex).

When you say hatchling how young?
I do miss him but am glad he went back to his pond.

It was funny becasue he wouldn't go at first which made me feel mean. Then I found a place and he was happy and gone.

Technically, the term hatchling is used up to a year of age. Yours was obviously quite young.

I found it really interesting that this definately wild turtle looked way more healthy than many captive hatchlings. great color, form and smooth shell.

It's amazing how nature takes care of them- sometimes better off in the wild, huh?
