Newly bought aquatic plants question

I just bought our first aquatic plants, they didn't have much on the most recommended list so I bought arrowheads and ambulia. But I brought them home and was starting to wash them before putting them in and I saw like a wormy thing in the foam/roots of the arrowheads and possibly baby snails? little black dots on the ambulia. Is it okay to put them in anyway? Ichigo is still sick so I don't want to put it in if it's going to make her sicker.
The ambulia was in a tank with feeder fish and the arrowheads were in a separate tank with just plants.

I don't know about the wormy thing, but the black dots are more than likely baby snails.
They don't do any harm, but if they get into your filter, they can be hard to get rid of. Basically, it depends on if you want snails in your tank or not :P

The snail eggs I've seen on aquatic plants and in my turtles' tanks are clear jelly-like masses with little white dots in them (which are the eggs). Baby snails are small, but do look like snails if you look closely.

Can you get a pic of the worm-like creature? Was it pinkish and did it appear to have a mouth/sucker at one end?

You might want to keep the plants in clean water for a few days, changing the water periodically, to clean the plants of those creatures, just to be on the safe side.

LOL, a lot of plants will have snail eggs on them when you bring them home. It's not a stupid question at all! There are so many microscopic things on pond plants & in pond water. Hopefully you got them from a reputable fish store & then you should be ok.

Well, thats strange, my plants never had this problem, but...
I bought some Amazon Swords, for my tank. I had a small 10 gal tank in the car. SO I asked the man If I can get the plants in a bag(that you get fish in) and filled with water. Then when I got to my car to put in the plants, Plop, In goes a african dwarf frog. The plants were in tank with some. I didnt realize that. SO I just drove home as fast as possible, and droped it into my tank with a few of the same breed of frogs, LUCK ME!!!
This happened last, so it is still alive and doing well!
