I may get a job and have to move , how do I move with the turtle, because I mean it is HOT out there. He may get sick driving 8 hours in a turk ..

well put a wet towel in the bottom of a container and they should be all set. I would also suggest maybe every time you have to stop for gas, or a pee break fill up the container with water so they can drink and maybe eat.

No turtles in the trunk! You'll probably want to keep him in the car with you with air conditioning on. If it gets too hot, he'll probably get pretty dehydrated. Maybe you could drive at night, when it's cooler out?

I am for 3 JOBS YEAH SPAZ is going to have a great place to live soon. One of them is only a hour away so that is no problem, the next one is 6 so I have have to began at like 2 in the AM just so I can drive at night . But that last one is across country. And I don't no how I can pull that one off.

I'm in the same situation, I've actually got a job interview in Columbus, OH, next week, they are flying me in and putting me up in a hotel! So, that will be a 12 hour drive with a turtle in August ... Wait, sorry, a turtle and a cat and a 40 gallon aquarium. I'll have to leave the other cat and husband in Albany, though.

Jo-smooth -- Turtle will do fine cross country. I would suggest that you keep them warm and wet while driving. I keep mine in the floor boards in damp towels and I have a small tank that I take into the motel room and put them in there for the night. They may eat, but probably won't, because of the stress. You will need a heater and a thermometer to keep him at his proper temp. You just don't want to get them chilled and especially you don't want to get them warm cold, warm cold. That is an invitation for RI. I have done this several times with good luck. Just remember keep the temp as constant as you can. m.

Quick question , why do we not transport them in water ?

Joe-smooth -- If you try and transport in water they have a good chance of getting hurt by the sloshing water and it makes it difficult for them breathe. There are difficulties in keeping it warm. If you keep him hydrated and at (75 to 78 degrees) you will be fine. Put them in warmed water at night and back in the warm damp towels the next morning and off you go. I have done it so many times that I can do it without missing a beat. Just don't let him get too cold and then plop them back in warm water. It is not good for them. The thermometer is your best friend with this one. Good Luck
