Insects falling into tank?

Hey everyone,

I have another summer-related question...

Since the tank is basically a big pool of standing water in my apt, I am concerned about bugs... namely, mosquitoes, flies, and the like.

I have screens on my windows, but sometimes they just make it in... and if I am out of the apt and the only light on is Fatty's basking lamp, they might head towards it...

I found one teeny little gnat type thing in the tank today... will this be a problem for Fatty, or will he love them and eat them up (hopefully not catching any West Nile!)?

Thanks!

I feed my turt crickets every once in a while. Insects are part of their diet in the wild. I don't think it will do any harm.

Every now & then, insects do fall in. I wouldn't worry about it if it is only once in a while since it happens in the wild too.

Yeah, I wouldn't worry as long as you aren't finding like fifty insect corpses floating in the water. Little gnats and whatnot, your turtle will probably gobble them up!
