I have a heater don't name the name but I got it from wal-mart , and a Aque-tech filter. And all out of the they stopped working. I have been trying to reprime the filter but nothing happening, and tonight when I looked at the temp it was in the 76-74 rang when it is normally in the 78-80 rang.

Has anyone have a lot of their equipment fail on them at the same time? Could my turt be doing something to brake these things?
Should I buy a different brand?
And how can I keep the water heated until I can get a new heater ?

Is it possible that you had a power surge? Were any other electronics in the house affected? I'm pretty sure it wasn't anything your turtle did. You current water temps are just fine though, 78-80 is a little warm.

I was thinking the same thing. Sounds like a powersurge blew your equipment to me. Once my dad was trying to fix something or other and turned off the power in the livivng room at the box, and didn't turn off the TV first. When we turned on the TV the sound came on but not the picture! Something inside blew, I'd say the picture tube, but I didn't think TV still had "tubes"
Anyway, I put all my aquarium equipment on a surge protector strip like we have the computer on to guard against that kind of damage. We have blackouts here sometimes when we have bad storms, or when everyone is running the air conditioning all at once. Better not to take chances.

I guess it's good to not read too much into it. It's probably just coincidence. My friend had both of her light bulbs burn out in her kitchen fixture the other day at the same time.

I would invest in a better heater, not one from Walmart, that way you might have it last longer. I'd also inspect it closely to make sure your little baby wasn't snacking on it at some point! I don't know if that's an internal filter or not, but I doubt your turtle had much to do with it breaking ...

As for the baby, you probably should have 76-78 degree water, rather than 78-80. I've kept my baby's water at the slightly lower temps and he is doing great. If the water is too warm, they won't want to bask and their metabolisms are way up. As it's summer, the water will probably stay pretty constant without a heater.
