Just wondering if anyone else have turtles that enjoy fish company. Cozmo has always been kind to cichlids. He likes one in particular, a blood red parrot cichlid. He does the mating dance (fluttering fingernails) with it all the time. Just wondering if anyone else has a turtle that does this. It's great to watch them both feeding on pellets side by side.

Wait, I've read from more than one source that males will hold the two front arms to the side of the female's head and vibrate their nails as a mating dance. I read that is why male sliders have the much longer nails than females. Also, he never tries to bite the fish and it is only this one particular fish he does it with.

yea but if you read around its also a sign of agression or a mating dance that can lead to agression.
Kinda weird how its only one fish though...

I doubt its agression. My female Painted flutters at everything. She flutters at her reflection, blankets, cords, rocks....

hurley flutters at himself, the stones on the bottom of his tank, my ring when I hold it up to him, his food, his poo, anything.
he does have two platy friends though. Had them for a few months now. Just won't eat them. They will even eat food out of his mouth sometimes and he doesn't mind.
Weirdo if you ask me. He needs to be a man and eat them already, LOL!
