my turtle is about 4 inches...what would be the proper diet??

a head full of good pellets every other days and veggies everyday. read the main site. it has alot of nutrition info

i dont really understand how much to feed it...i give her red leaf lettuce everyday and like 5-6 pellets everyother day..i was wondering if that iss good or does she need more variety?

That's good. You can look into providing other veggies if you want. Green leaf lettuce, carrots, anacharis, all kinds of stuff. Read the main site and you'll see what you can offer and in what amounts.

that sounds pretty good. just feed however many pellets would fit in the head if it were hollow. you could throw in some other veggies for a little variety.

is she going to need other veggies or will lettuce be fine

i guess she doesnt really need them but its always nice for some variety.

It's good to vary the veggies. Look at the info on feeding for ideas.

is it ok to put a small turtl in with my bigger one?

no. RES are very aggressive and will fight over territory usually resulting in death or injury. chances are your bigger RES will see it as an invasion of his/her territory and will fight with the other. its always best to have one turtle to a tank.
