ALGAE DESTROYER
I have had algae growth a couple times now in my 20 gal. tank. The tank sits in my bedroom against a wall, away from the window & most of the time the shade is drawn. The algae make the water a thick, bright green & rolling clumps form on the bottom of the tank. I d/n/k why its growing! Would the reptomin pellets be causing this?
How do I get rid of the algae so it d/n come back (it requires more than a wipe, & more like a water change when it happens & it stains their dock & its gross)? I have this product, "Algae Destroyer," made by Aquarium Pharmaceuticals, Inc. Its made to control algae growth in freshwater aquariums containing fish. Its active ingredient is 2-chloro-4, 6-bis-(ethylamino)-s-triazine w/ a simazine of 3.50%. It says to apply one tablet for every 5 gal. Is this safe for my turtle tank? If so, I'm afraid the turts would try to eat the discs, so should I dissolve the tabs in water and then add that solution to the tank?
Thanks,
KK
