Help from anyone with egg experience???

Okay, my eggs are due in a week or two and I want to be ready. I don't know what to expect with RES [soft shelled] eggs. I had success with hard shelled eggs but dont't know what to expect. Any help???

What do you mean by "RES [soft shelled] eggs"?

I think he's referring to the RES eggs being soft and easily broken, as opposed to a chicken egg which is hard.

no now my Sandy laid her own and the softies turned out not to be fertilized... RES eggs are soft shelled in comparison to the "hard shelled" eggs of a softshell turtle.

So they are closing in on their hatch date? How are they holding up?
I think Bubly's Mom is the most recent egg hatcher here.

yeah... they have til friday or else they're overdue... most of them seem fine but 1 out of the 5 has a very small section that looks sunken in... I'm not sure of they are fertile though. But there is a very good chance they are.

I think @ least 2 are dead or something... they sunk in on themselves almost completely. They are still moist and everything esle condition wise is good. This was only Sandy's second clutch so maybe not all of them were fertile... o well. I'll try again if i lose the rest.

No no that doesnt mean they are dead. Both of my eggs were almost completely sunk and I thought the same thing, you also can not see the babies when they get to a certain point which is scary but it doesn't mean they are dead. Also they eggs shouldn't be very soft. Of course they are fragile but they shouldn't be soft. They should be almost like a mini chicken egg. Mine completely shattered the outer part of the egg a few days before they hatched too. How often are you giving them water? They do not need a ton of water and you can actually drown them. I only misted my eggs once a day or every other day. Too much water is way worse than not enough water.
