Hey all, been awhile since I have visited. I wanted to share a little story. Today I see one of my turtles doing what looked like pull ups over the top of the tank. I have never thought much of this because I thought I have safe guarded my tank pretty well as far as an escape attempt is concerned. I have seen him doing these pull ups a few times and actually thought it was kind of cute and entertaining to watch him. As I am watching him, his tank mate comes up from behind and pushed him. it totally gave him the boost and leverage to pull himself completely up and out of the tank. I was amazed, it was like they planned it all out hahaha. I immediately ran over to the tank and grabbed him before he could take the leap of doom. I couldn't believe they collaborated an escape like that and fear they could get hurt so I further safe guarded the tank. Thought I'd share how the little sneaksters worked together to get out though.

Sneaky little buggers! I've seen Ralph doing pulls ups before when I forgot to close the lid. Clearly it's time to re-think your escape-proofedness!

Just don't fill the tank to the rim...My turtles took a couple of 4ft drops before they got tired

Lol, Yup, me too

I think I've got it now. Ralph's been caged in completely for many years, although he's had a couple of grand adventures. And, well, I just underestimated Frankie

That's hilarious.
Turtles are so funny ^__^ Especially when they live together. If Hurricane flips herself on her back (she's made a habit of this), Typhoon is known to crawl under her and flip her over. The weirdest thing though, is that Typhoon is the dominant one in the tank, she always gets to have the best basking spots first, gets to eat first, and has no problem showing off how tough she can be if she has to. Still, she willingly crawls under Hurricane to hide, and lets Hurricane sit on her.
