Hi, I'm wondering if you can leave the lights on for the turtles longer than 12 hours. I know thats whats reccomended for the UVB but how about the regular lights? It's fall right now and the days are getting shorter... I turn the lights on before work at about 6:30 and feed my turt but then by the time I get home it's almost time to turn the lights out. So I'd like to know it we can keep the regular lights on so we can observe the turtle more often.

p-pepp - I set my timer to the daylight hours and at night when I am home I just cut the lights on by hand. I feed mine at 10:00 pm and they are accustomed to it. However, that does not keep them from begging during the day.

Usually 12 hours give or take. A little bit longer is fine. I keep my lights on a timer, about 10:30-10:30. That way I never have to remember to turn them on or off.

Thanks for the info, I'd really like to view my turtle a little longer thou. I'm not home at 10:30 to turn them on so they could stay on long enough.
