Can i put an eel in my turtle tank?

the eel is like 2 feet long bought him for dinner but we couldn't eat it tonight so we put him in the turtle tank, we separated them of course, put the turtle in a smaller tank for tonight but would I need to change the water afterwards? will it be contaminated by the eel?

I would change the water after. You never know where the eel has been, or what sort of conditions it's been kept in previously.
BTW, I've never heard of selling live eel! Very cool

Eels live in both fresh and salt water.
I grew up in Europe, and many people keep eels in their drinking water wells to keep the water clean.We had 2 of them in the well in our country house, and if the water was good enough to drink ( analyzed by a chemist) it's good enough for your turtle.
Eels are also very aggressive, so i would watch for the turtles well being on this one.
