Well..........You learn something new everyday, and i thought i'd share my knowledge with other members. Maybe you already knew this, maybe you didn't.
If you have a turtle with split scutes (most pastels,color morphs, or just regular turtles) it is 90% accurate to say that you have a female turtle. This usually happens when you have high incubation temps, and we all know that high temps generate "mostly" females, but split scutes is a tell tale sign.
