Hi,i adopted 2 red ear sliders from someone that didnt want them anymore. Ive been starting to read a lot about turtles and how to care for them and im a bit afraid both turtles are pyramiding.

Ive been checking pictures and i cant make my mind.

Both my turtles are around 4-5 months old. Ive been feeding stick and carrots daily but i think i might have did it too much.
I cant tell if its normal or not since they are still babies and growing fast.

This is my first turtle named fatass

Thank you for your help.

Doesn't look like it to me. I don't think it's too big of a problem at that age. However, you should probably ease up of the carrots. They are okay every once in a while, but should not be part of the regular diet. Try a little green leaf lettuce.

Just give them the right food and a warm place to bask and everything should be fine.

Pyramiding usually shows up when they are older and stop growing because, even if they are overfed, smaller turtles use that extra protein to grow.

Their shell looks fine to me, nothing to worry about. By the way, I like the funny names. :)
