Yeah, like the title says the Pastron is kinda pinkish around the limbs.

Is it the cause of overfeeding or something?

I have the same problem with my RES! Can anybody shed some light on this??

mine has the same thing, i believe i saw somewhere on this forum where someone said that is was mineral stains from tap water, but im not 100 percent sure.

str1p is right. It can be mineral deposits from the water and/or stains from where the plastron gets rubbed or scratched on a hard surface. As you can see the pink stains are only on the sides where the plastron is more protruding.

My Charlie has the same issue but I clean it regularly with a soft toothbrush or a wet towel. Sometimes it does come off sometimes it doesn't.

Crap. I think it might be this:
Red or Pink Coloring on Shell or Skin
This coloring on the skin, on or between the scutes, on the carapace or on the plastron can be an indication of septicemia (blood poisoning). If your turtle has had a previous illness, infection, injury or improper habitat, it is possible that is has developed into septicemia. Consult a qualified veterinarian regarding appropriate testing and treatment.

In the case of septicemia the turtle behaviour changes. He/she becomes more sluggish, stays in his/her shell all the time, loss of appetite, etc.

No, he's still fast, always out of his shell except for when I pick him up and even then only half the time he'll be in his shell and he still eats anything I throw at him, except for maybe veggies.

I would worry if it gets soft or smelly. It might just be irritation from climbing on the basking area.

I haven't seen any symptoms on him. It's just pinkish. Might be from climbing on the basking area because he got it after I got him a new one.

So it's not the Zoo Med dock in the picture? Is the new one more abrasive?

It's the Zoo Med dock. But it's the large one so I guess it has large things sticking out which I think irritates my turtle when he climbs up, doesn't stop him from going up but yeah.

I don't think there's anything to worry about but just keep an eye on it. Try cleaning it with a q-tip or something soft, maybe it will come off.

i kinda have the same problem.

i don't know if its the same thing though. its on the skin too and every time i take them out of the water their skin turns red. when their in the water its skin color goes back to normal
