Shedding Scutes in pieces

Pickle has been shedding his marginal scutes, and some of them are coming off in pieces. Most of the other scutes came off whole but the ones that kind of wrap around the edges are breaking up. Is that normal?

Yes, sometimes they come off in big chunks, and sometimes they break off in smaller pieces. As long as eventually the whole scute is shed, then it's perfectly fine.

Hmmm, I have the opposite problem. The marginals are usually intact but the other scutes break up.
