I have my RES for 3 years and it seems to be small for its size (size of a palm). Is it normal for that size? I went to a pet store last year and saw a RES that is much bigger than my RES and it is betwen 2-3 years old.

It's largely dependant on genetics, nutrition, habitat, even sex, but I would say an average 3 year old res would be between 4-6", 4" being a bit on the small side and 6" being a bit on the large side.

i would have to ask who's palm?

my rez is almost three and hes bigger than my palm, but probably as big as my brothers' and my brother is a big guy.

i would agree with the measurements bulldog listed. i would say mine is about 4.5 but i havent measured him recently.

I have 2 turtles who are approx 2.5 years old and they are both approaching 4 inches and they both still fit in my hand though they practically fill my entire palm (I'm a petite female so my hands are on the smaller size).
