if i saw a turtle in the road, id probably die of a heart attack before the fact actually sunk in.

I've done that before, stopped for turtles. Love it when I actually make it in time. OOoooo, there's this one road out by my grandparents that they quickly learned to avoid when i visited, because there would be a turtle migration across it every year. I mean about a hundred turtles at a time, easy. And they COULD NOT hit any with me in the car, very slow going, we'd miss church service.

You have a nice variety in your area. I've never heard of the stinkpot before.

lol, i thinkthe stinkpot comment was due to the turtle being smelly.

he was a musk turtle.

could be wrong, but the way i understood it the turtle just plain smelled.

its like you would call a smelly child a stinkpot..

Stinkpot is the correct name of the common Musk turtle

now i diddnt know that.

i thought you were using a nickname because it smelled.

Stinkpot is actually a nickname for the common musk turtle. They only release the smell when frightened or surprised. I own a musk turtle. He has only stunk at me once. You have to be really close to them to smell it. Having the turtle next to your face close.
