Because it is getting warmer, and I live in Las Vegas, my turtle water temp has been going up. My parents refuse to turn the air on, because the high is only about 90 now. But from about 4pm to 7pm, the water temp gets to about 81. I'm worried about it and i'm not sure how to prevent it. Any ideas?

Partial water changes have worked the best for me. You could also try freezing some water bottles and putting them in the tank. For me, they've never really lowered the temp that much, but they might help with a smaller tank (but they will take up room). You could position a fan over the water to try to cool off the water a bit as well.

I wouldnt worry about the water temps hitting in the 80s. Only when it starts getting close to 90 thats when you wanna worry about trying to cool the water. My small turtles are outside and I have it right now so they get full sun.
Their water hits in the 80s everyday. They are perfectly fine with some warm water water.
