Youtube and Gravel

I really need to stop viewing any videos of RES setups on Youtube. I cannot deal with the quantity of the videos where the 4-5 inch turtle (usually more like four 2 inch turtles) are in a ten gallon tank with a bunch of gravel and like three inches of water. It makes me want to smack someone. This is perpetuating the problem, as evidenced by the multitude of comments asking how much gravel you need for turtles, etc. So frustrating!

Agreed. You could probably spend all day telling people on there NOT to use gravel and there would still be people to tell.

Maybe we should just all make videos about not using gravel to combat them.

Yeah I was on Ustream last night watching some live RES footage and came across some pretty pathetic setups.. they are both actually broadcasting now. It bugs me on how much people could care less about there pets.

Seems odd to me that they care enough to broadcast their pets lives, but not to take the time to look up what would be good for their pets.

Wow. Those are awful, and like I said with youtube, of course none of the comments say anything about the crappy conditions. It's like watching a video of someone's dog stuck in a crate.

*cough* none of them did have any comments regarding the conditions, before I got there.

I saw it online as well, I think you just need to go into any store and mention it. :) Up to 55 gallons, rectangular tanks, just like you said.
