1)Not sure whats the longest they can go but in nature they only hibernate 4months about
2)The hibernate in water
3)Yes they can absorb oxygen from the water slowly through special skin cells that are just inside the tail opening

4)Okay you cant just put your turtle into hibernation like stick in the freezer while you go on vacation. The water cant actually freeze. Thats why you can only hibernate turtles in large water supplys where it cant completely freeze all the water
