hi guys,
i was gone for a month over christmas and left my turtle in the good care of a friend. I just noticed today that my turtle has a strange wart like & wart sized lump on his tail - sort of pinkish in color. He doesn't seem to be in any sort of pain, but I was just a little concerned and wondered if you knew what this was? While i was gone, my friend attempted to clean his tank...but it still became much dirtier than i have ever allowed it to get...so maybe bacteria or dirt could have made this thing appear. A few questions:

How big/old is your turtle? Where is this growth on the tail, top, underside? Is there any way you can post a picture?

i got him at petco this year...he's between 5&6 inches long and i do not know his age. but im sure his size can help determine that. it is on the side of the tail - about half between where the shell ends and and the tail ends -- - - right in the middle. i just tried to take a photo, but he's not being very cooperative. it literally looks the size and shape of a wart...pinkish. ill try and get a picture if i can.
