Well, it's not boiling or anything but now that it's warm here (Philly), the thermometer on MIss Tee's tank reads 83. I don't use air conditioning, just fans. She's used to 74-76

Think I could throw in a couple ice cubes? She would play with them and they would cool the water down?

Ice would be ok if the water they were made is ok. I use a plastic water bottle and freeze it. You can just put it in the tank ane watch the temp. Slowly lowering the temp is more desirable the rapidly lower it. How large is the tank?

Try to put the frozen plastic bottle near the output of your filter. The circulating water current from the filter output will help the process along. If the water gets dangerously warm, you could do a partial water change with cooler water.

why not just turn down yout heater to compensate???? it would make more sense to drop the heaters output by 10 degrees.

The heater is off. It only heats water, it does not cool it.

Open some windows in that room and get air circulating. This will lower the room temperature, which will also help to lower the water temperature. That or, get an air conditioner.

Yes the humidity here is pretty unbearable at times! I would go the water bottle route, I did that with the tub I have outside for mine and it cooled it down very nicely! Also if you have your tank near a window where the sun hits it I would move it.
