is it possible for turtles to be harmed by someone smoking in the same room as them?

Probably not in the short term. Second hand smoke isn't good for any animal/person so avoid it if possible. I smoke outside because of my animals. I compare it to smoking in a room with children. I just won't do it.

I had a friend whose whole family smoked like chimneys...their DOG got emphysema. Sad sight.

yeah i personally wouldnt think its the best thing for them. when i smoke i either go into another room or go outside. on the rare occasion that i happen to smoke in the same room i open the windows and the door and put my fan on. i'm talking about cigarettes though not other stuff...

Well for starters think about what the drugs do to people, so then think about what it might do to the animals....not good. And I'm takinga drugs and narcotics class right now for my criminal justice program and I've seen what this stuff can do. You need to get your bud to stop this stuff and get the animals away from him.

Plus think about what he could do to the animals while he is getting his buzz on.

I'm an on and off smoker myself. I usually smoke outside because many of my family members simply can't stand the smell. Now that I live in the apartment myself, I'm more free to do it anywhere. However, even a smoker like myself, don't like to second hand smoke. What I do to avoid to the awkward cigarette smell in my apartment is I use a window fan. You can recommend your roommate to buy one. You can buy the window fan that offer intake and outake or just one option and set it up so that it blows wind out. It works wonders. You, the animals, him, or anybody else won't smell a thing. Whenever he needs to smoke (whatever), just tell him to sit infront of the fan and smoke there.
