How long would it take for a turtle to get this big?

I had mean for like 2 0r 3 years and it is only 5 inches .

It depends really. 5-10years most likely. I had one that size because it was overfed. It reached that size in 2years.

That is kind of bitter sweet, I want my turtle to grow and I have even been worried about her not growing fast. But when you think of everything you need for them when they get fully grown is a lot to think about.I have to build a neew basking area , and get a new tank.

Yes, it is alot more then you think. Pictures are one thing compared to actually getting a res that size. When someone asked me to take in their very large res i figured how much difference could a few inches make. When i got her i knew i was in trouble. She seems so huge for only 3inch difference compared to mine. Even in my 75gallon tank just to house her for the winter when i got her till i could put her outside just made me feel bad cause she made that tank look so small.

I say no rush for wanting your turtle to get huge.

I am saving up for a 125 gallon. Every week a put a few dollars asaide. So so pretty soon I will be able to buy one for her. I have years to save up lol .

Yea thats how i do it. $20 every two weeks i save for my turtles.

^ BTW, never buy a new tank. People are always selling 125G with stands for usually $150 on other fourms. I sold one 2 months ago for $75!

I can never find them that cheap lol . If I did I will say for get saving.
