I am attempting to post some pictures of my set up and my two RES : Lady and Tramp and the baby eastern painted - Tony. This is a 40 gallon long and Tony is going to get his own place soon. Meanwhile he is screened off from the girls who will snap at him and bite his tail.

I am new to this forum.

very nice. What an interesting idea for separating them.

Those two look like they're plotting evil deeds in that second pic.
Cute little baby. Do they have UVB lights in addition to those heat lights? They both need them...

Yes , they have a light strip with UVA/UVB, left out in the picture ( does it need to cover the whole length of tank ? it only covers the middle half ).
Tramp does that when I try to take a picture or get too close while basking, it is her "protective stare" stance.

The UV and Heat lamp should both be over the basking areas. UV doesn't penetrate water, glass and screens so well.

Yes, you want both as much over the basking area as possible. The strength of the UVB rays decreases a lot the further away it is from the turtle (if you've got a light that gives of 5% UVB, 6-8 inches away is good). The heat lamp should warm the basking area to high 80's - 90F.
