RES to lay eggs in January?

I'm quite confident that my RES needs to lay some eggs. She is basking quite a bit more than usual, and is absolutely frantic at almost all times, even after eating a hefty meal. Is it possible that she may need to lay in January?

Also, she is not letting me feel for eggs, so I can not tell for sure. When I try to feel under her shell, she tucks her rear leg all the way in and doesn't let. I don't want to be rough with her, could I just lightly move her leg out of the way and carefully feel?

Also, how would I go about making her a nesting site?

Thank you!

If they're kept indoors it's possible they can lay them year round.Do you have a place where she can walk around. If you do, let her out and follow her around until she stops. If she has her leg out, you can try then.
