What kind of turtle is this?

My cousin found a turtle a couple weeks ago, barely an 1.5" shell. I was just wondering what kind it is? Are it's needs the same as in a RES?

It's a Midland painted turtle. Their needs are quite similar to RES. Although, if this one came from a warmer climate area, it will need to be on the upper end of the temperature range that RES like. (Note that the range shouldn't be exceeded, just at its higher end). Best of luck to you and your hatchling (sometimes, they fail to thrive, but that isn't anybody's fault).

Thank you, I think this one is used to cold, because we live up here in Wisconsin, and my cousin's father found her in his work.

It most likely recently hatched and should be returned to the nearest safe habitat.
