What kind of turtle is this?
Posted: Wed May 27, 2015 9:43 pmMy cousin found a turtle a couple weeks ago, barely an 1.5" shell. I was just wondering what kind it is? Are it's needs the same as in a RES?

Posted: Thu May 28, 2015 2:02 amIt's a Midland painted turtle. Their needs are quite similar to RES. Although, if this one came from a warmer climate area, it will need to be on the upper end of the temperature range that RES like. (Note that the range shouldn't be exceeded, just at its higher end). Best of luck to you and your hatchling (sometimes, they fail to thrive, but that isn't anybody's fault).
