My baby RES have some browning on the bottom of their shell. I don't know if it's been there since I got them (about a month ago) or if it's new.
They have clean water, a balanced diet of pellets and greens and bugs (all from pet store), they have a UVB basking light, a tank that never goes below temperature of 75degrees. They are eating everyday and acting completely normal. Do they have shell rot?
Also, the turtle in the first picture (Jet) looks like she's swollen or somethings. She was freaked out because I don't usually take them out of the tank so she was breathing heavy.

Pretty normal for RES. Her pattern will go away and be replaced by dark, brown splotches. She doesn't look swollen, maybe just some flesh pushed out while she's in her shell. Maybe post some pics of the carapace, we can see if she's growing too fast.
I like the second pic, kinda like she's saying "Surprise!!!"

lololol on the second photo as well. See Steve, that second photo would be my vote on a winner for one of the photo contest. Radologist, you have a outstanding and pretty baby red ear slider there and I do not see anything myself that you need to worry about. I know with you being in the medical field, you are a worried turtle mama sort of speak lol which is understandable. But it appears to be very healthy and normal. Like Steve stated, some photos of the top shell ( carapace ) may help a bit just to double check.

Here is the photo of them from the side. Their personalities really shine through. I think I'm over feeding them. I didn't realize that they don't know when to stop. Their tank is filled with duckweed and sometimes they eat it so maybe at night they eat lots of it.
