Hi,
Can some one help me in identifying the brownish spot on my turtles chin, I have attached pics.
I have 36 gallons tank, maintain 27 degree temp, have proper basking area. My turtle is very active. The brown spot is visible from last 24 hours. I have 2 turtles size approximately 5/6 inches.

Thanks Parag

Usually this type of injury and location is from rubbing against the glass. Does he beg often?

Thanks a lot Steve, yes he often asks for food & is very naughty. Should i keep him out of water for a day or 2.

It depends, because they sometimes get very restless out of the tank and might make it worse.. What kind of setup will you have for him out of the tank?

Sir,
I don't have any setup for turtles outside tank, I keep them in a tub to give them natural sun light, they are in the tub around 2 hours.
Please see the photo of my tank setup.

A tub doesn't remove the problem of the chin rubbing against surfaces that can cause those marks. Also, please be careful of temperatures when they are in sunlight.

Sir,
When I place my turtle's in sunlight I cover half the tub so that they can go in shade whenever they want.
Thanks a lot for for giving me your time & sharing your knowledge.

Glad to know, but the tubs smaller size will still get pretty warm. Most tubs that I can find around here are not very large but take temperature readings for peace of mind. And you're very much welcome, I'm glad to help in anyway.
