Aquarium care question

Hi I have a 20 gallon tank that houses 2 RES turtles and was wondering how do you do a full clean. Normally I take the decorations and the rocks out and rinse it/soak it in hot water for a little while. Then I empty out the tank and use a glass cleaner. After I clean the filter but not too clean to keep some of the good bacteria or replace depending on condition and time. I've heard that people use a bleach solution but is the glass cleaner just as good? After everything's done I put it back the way it was. If anyone can give me some tips it would be appreciated. Thank you very much.

Unless there is algae on the decorations, I don't clean them. Tank is emptied but I don't use any cleaner or bleach. I'll scrape off dried skin and debris on the glass. The filter gets completely rinsed and hosed out. The bio media is lightly rinsed and preserved, until its ready to go back into the filter.

If some of the algae, etc. on the aquarium glass is hard to remove, a razor blade works wonders.
