Hello! I have a Red-Eared Slider named Shelldon Leo Kooper!

She is a (nearly) 13 year old RES, Female. 75 Gallon Tank, With Underwater heating at around 78, and UVB and Basking Lightning. She has been eating and basking regularly. Her filter system is a Fluval 407 which cleans the water very effectively.

Today I was examining her and noticed she had an odd what looks like a pimple or blemish on her tail. It isn't particularly large or anything, but it still worries me. I contacted her veterinarian, but any information or advice would help. A friend thinks that it may be a small abrasion.

I did do a full water change three days ago.

The only thing I can think of is that Shelldon possibly scratched her tail with her hind-legs. I remember she did something similar with her front legs to her plastron, which healed quickly.

Thank you.

I'd just keep an eye on it to see if it gets bigger or changes color. My female RES would get something similar near her nail and it will disappear, then come back later on. Its infrequent enough that I haven't kept track of it.
