I added some cuttlebone yesterday for Michelangelo to eat since he ate all of his. Well I woke up this morning and he had stacked all of that cuttlebone on his basking dock. And he had to do this before I woke up for a second time because I woke up at 6 and he was basking so I went back to bed, woke up at 8 and there was cuttlebone pieces all over his dock. He had to of put them there because no one else could have in that tank and I would have known if someone walked into my room.

Why would he do that though? That's the first time he has ever done this.

Maybe so he can keep an eye on it?

I've seen mine bring lettuce and other food items on to the dock but I think it's just because she's a pig and doesn't want the other to get it.. either way, it's cute.

I often find pieces of cuttlebone on their corkbarks, but I don't think they're intentionally bringing it up there. Sometimes small pieces stick to their shells when they come out of the water to bask and then fall off when their shells dry. This is true of leafy green pieces as well sometimes. About the stacking of the pieces, though, I don't know... :)

He might be trying to construct an escape tower... made from all natural cuttlebone so it won't be suspicious. ;)

Lol he could easily get out if he wanted. He just doesn't stand up though. He may be trying to hide his cuttlebone from the fish. I think he believes the pleco wants revenge for everytime Michelangelo eats one of the pleco's algae waffers.

He's eaten what I gave him yet again so we'll see what he does tonight when I put more in.
