worm in feces

Earlier today i was looking in my turtles tank and there was a little white thing in his poop it looked like a worm it was about a half an inch and wasnt moving. I removed it from his tank and threw it away. Is this bad?

I have been feeding him ten pellets every other day and he just started eating carrots a couple of days ago but he still wont eat other vegetables. He
has had 6 red minnows about 3 weeks ago two canadian night crawlers about a month ago and the other two weeks ago and i feed him a few crickets once a month.

Fish can be known to carry parasites, but I am no expert on this...

How big are the pellets that you're feeding him? If they're medium/big sized, I'm assuming 10 pellets is a bit too much, even every other day. And as for the worm, yes, fish(especially guppies and minnows) are known to carry parasites, ranging from large red worms to tiny white worms, as you described. I would suggest thoroughly cleaning out the tank, as these things can breed like crazy.

Was it moving? Did it appear to have segments? Try to get a sample for a vet to check it out. There are different kinds of parasites that are eradicated differently.

It was not moving, no it didnt look like it had segments. As for the vet the closest herp vet around is a three hour drive. Is there anything else I could do to check to see if it's a parasite and how deadly are parasites. I think what I will do at first is watch to see if he poops anymore worms out.
