It's hard to say just from weight because most of that weight will be the shell. Can he tuck all his limbs in?

I have been looking for a 'rule' of thumb as far as weights go for RES and haven't been able to find anything yet. But my 7" turtle weighs 1# 11 oz and is on the skinny side...we are working on gaining some weight with him. So to me...but it's JMO yours sounds okay.

If your turtle can pull his limbs in, then he is not extremely overweight. It would be cause for concern if your turtle was so pudgy that he couldn't pull the limbs in.

I would add to that, when you check those links...variety is key. Don't just find one thing that the turtle likes and stop there. It is good for them to get different nutrients from different sources.
