Hi,

Just yesterday night, i noticed my baby turt spit up some of his food after he ate it. And today again, he ate then spit some up again. I know that someone mentioned something about UVB rays helping digest there food or sumthin, can this be the cause for his throwing up? I fed him as much as he could eat in seven minutes, as the foods bottle said... Well he has been unactive and staying in one place for a while and taking naps.. Can he be sick, or does this just mean he is bord?

try feeding it less food,

RES's will eat almost anything u give them, sometimes even if they are not hungry.

just lower the amount of food you give him and see what happens

Okay, thanks, i'll try that and post an update in a few days. Also, he has been taking long hour naps during the day and being un-active, i'm worried. Do you think it's because i don't have a filter? I bought 2 filters and had to return them becasue they were defective.

Poor water quality (no filter) can make your turt sick. Also, sometimes baby turts try to take whole pellets into their mouths, but when they soak up water, they get bigger and mushy. So then the hatchlings spit some back out...

My turts will throw up if they eat too much, too fast. Usually only when I put feeder fish in because they try to eat as many as they can. Never follow the feeding directions on the can of food. It's always WAY too much. If I fed my turts what they could eat in 7 minutes it would be the entire can! Feed as much as would fit inside his head if it were hollow.

they tell you to feed them that much so you run out quicker and have to go buy more of their product.

Is it pellet's he's spitting up? If so, break them up into smaller pieces.
